Thisara Perera produced outstanding figures of 6 for 44 to bowl Sri Lanka to a massive 76-run win in the Second ODI at Pallekele. The visitors suffered this huge defeat despite opener Azhar Ali scoring a neat looking 96 (from 119 balls with 12 fours). The rest of the Pakistani batsmen failed to stand up to the challenge though and wasting Azhar’s efforts.

The Series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is only three games old, two of them being T20Is. Yet, batsmen have had an eternal struggle in all the matches, as a result of which either side has failed to post even 150 so far.

Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 6 wickets with 47 balls to spare in a rain-affected 1st ODI at Pallekele. The visitors needed to chase a paltry target of 135 from 42 overs which they did after facing minor hiccups early in their innings.

Following the drawn T20 series, Pakistan and Sri Lanka now face off in the longer version of the shorter format of the game. Despite the teams being evenly matches in the T20s, Pakistan will go into the one-dayers with a slight upper hand.

After a low-scoring T20I Series at Hambantota, Sri Lanka and Pakistan clash again tomorrow in the first of the five ODIs at Pallekele. The match is going to be a day night affair scheduled to start at 09:00 GMT or 14:30 local and also 14:30 IST.

It was almost as if Friday’s game was being replayed all over again, only the scorecards of the teams were exchanged. While Lanka batted first and successfully defended a low score in the first ODI at Hambantota, Pakistan reversed the procedure at the same venue on Sunday.

Pakistan have made a minor change to their ODI Squad for the upcoming Jazz Cup Series in Sri Lanka. Left-arm pacer Sohail Tanvir, who has bowled superbly in the T20I Series has been asked to stay back with the team.
